Easiest Vegan Cinnamon Rolls w/ Cream Cheese Icing
If I could choose one sweet treat for the rest of my life, it would be these cinnamon rolls. Ever had Cinnabon? THESE ARE BETTER! Vegan or not, you’re going to love these cinnamon rolls. Try them out this weekend! The recipe is a longer one but it’s VERY simple and soooo worth it! Follow my simple steps below!
1. Prep Dough
Mix the following:
2 tbsp maple syrup
1/4 cup melted vegan butter
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup almond milk
Then, sprinkle 1/2 packet of active dry yeast on top
Let it sit for 1 minute, then mix in:
2 1/2 cups flour
Mix just until combined, cover bowl with plastic wrap & set aside for 1 hour to let it rise.
Step 2. Prep Filling Ingredients
1/3 cup softened butter
1/2-2/3 cup sugar
2 tbsp cinnamon
Step 3. Make the Roll
Roll Dough onto floured surface into 1/2 inch thick rectangle
Spread softened vegan butter, then sugar, then cinnamon
Roll dough into a log & slice into 6 pinwheels
Step 4. Put pinwheels into baking dish.
I use a round pie dish or casserole dish. Make sure the rolls are all touching each other but there’s room for them to grow (they will double in size!) cover the dish with plastic wrap, let sit for 30 min to 1 hour.
Step 5. Remove plastic wrap, bake for about 30-35 min on 350.
Step 6. Serve with Homemade Vegan Cream Cheese Icing
Vegan Cream Cheese Icing Recipe
1 8 ounce package of vegan cream cheese
3 cups confectioners sugar
1/2 cup softened vegan butter
Mix with electric hand mixer
