Golden and crisp on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside - this easy french toast recipe is made without eggs or dairy and it's so good. Made with 6 simple ingredients that you probably already have on hand. Everyone will love it and no one will guess it's vegan.
In a large bowl, whisk the non-dairy milk, yogurt, vanilla, and cinnamon together until smooth.
Bring a skillet with a pat of vegan butter to medium heat.
While the butter is warming, dip 2 or 3 slices of bread into the custard just so that it is coated, be careful not to overly soak your bread of your french toast will be soggy.
Immediately place the slices of bread into the buttered skillet and fry on each side (2-3 minutes) until golden. Remove from the skillet and repeat until all of the bread and custard is used.
Serve warm, topped with powdered sugar and maple syrup.
Notes
To store: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to about 4 days.
To freeze: Allow your slices to cool completely before storing them in a freezer bag separated by wax paper.
Reheating: The best way to reheat french toast is to microwave it until warm (usually about 30 seconds)! You can also use your toaster oven.
