Cheesy Grits Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond or oat milk regular milk will also work if you're not vegan
  • ¾ cup grits
  • ½ cup regular or vegan cheddar cheese shreds
  • 2 tablespoon regular or vegan butter
  • 4 tablespoon maple syrup optional
  • salt and pepper

Easy Cheesy Grits Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, bring water and oat milk to a boil. Add the grits and reduce the heat to a simmer. Cook until the grits become thick and creamy, stirring often - about 10 minutes. Remove from heat & mix in the vegan cheddar cheese.
  • Scoop out about ¼ of the pot of grits and enjoy each serving with a pat of vegan butter, seasoned with salt and pepper, and drizzled with maple syrup.
