1cupunsweetened almond or oat milkregular milk will also work if you're not vegan
¾cupgrits
½cupregular or vegan cheddar cheese shreds
2tablespoonregular or vegan butter
4tablespoonmaple syrupoptional
salt and pepper

Easy Cheesy Grits Instructions
In a medium saucepan, bring water and oat milk to a boil. Add the grits and reduce the heat to a simmer. Cook until the grits become thick and creamy, stirring often - about 10 minutes. Remove from heat & mix in the vegan cheddar cheese.
Scoop out about ¼ of the pot of grits and enjoy each serving with a pat of vegan butter, seasoned with salt and pepper, and drizzled with maple syrup.
