Add the butter into a large saucepan and melt it on the stovetop on low heat. Once the butter is melted, add the marshmallows and melt, stirring frequently.
After about 10 minutes, your marshmallows should be completely melted. Pour the rice crispy cereal into a large mixing bowl and pour the warm marshmallow mixture over the cereal. Mix until combined.
Transfer the rice crispy mixture into a casserole dish and use your spoon or hands to press it in gently. Either cool in the fridge or on the countertop. Once cooled, cut into 12 pieces.
