Dinner Roll Instructions
Mix warm water, melted butter or oil, maple syrup or honey, and salt together. Then, sprinkle the active dry yeast over the mixture and stir 2 or 3 times. Allow to sit for 10 minutes. Then, add the all purpose flour and mix until a dough forms.
Use your hands to form the dough into a mound, leaving it in the bowl. Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel and allow the dough to rise for 1 hour. After an hour, roll the dough into a 1 inch slab onto a floured surface. Slice the dough into 24 pieces and roll each piece into a ball.
Place each ball onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or into a baking dish for rolls that touch, and cover with a kitchen towel and allow to rise for 15 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 350. Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until the rolls are golden. Feel free to broil for 1-2 minutes at the end to allow the rolls to develop a delicious golden color.
Serve with homemade honey butter or maple butter topping. Melt butter and maple syrup or honey together and mix well. Brush the topping over the top of the dinner rolls and enjoy them warm.
