Vegan Biscuits Recipe Instructions

  • Begin by preheating the oven to 350. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt together. Then, add the grated or thinly sliced cold butter. Use your hands to work the butter into the flour until a crumbly texture forms. Add the milk and agave and mix until a thick batter forms. If the batter feels dry (refer to photo earlier on the page), then add 1-2 tablespoon more non-dairy milk.
  • Transfer the vegan biscuit dough onto a floured surface and roll it into a ½ inch thick slab. Add a little more sliced or grated butter evenly over the slab and then fold the dough over. Repeat this step 2-3 more times and then roll the slab until it's ¾ inch thick.
  • Use a biscuit cutter to cut the vegan biscuit dough into rounds and place them onto your lined baking sheet. Option to brush them with melted vegan butter.
  • Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes and then broil for 1-2 minutes at the end to give the vegan biscuits a golden color. Enjoy warm with more agave, more butter, gravy, or use them as breakfast sandwiches.
