  • 8 King's Hawaiian Rolls
  • 1 cup whole milk, unsweetened almond milk, or unsweetened oat milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 regular eggs or ½ cup plain yogurt or non-dairy yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar for topping
  • fresh berries for topping
  • maple syrup for serving
  • butter or vegan butter for frying

Instructions For King's Hawaiian French Toast

  • Begin by slicing the King's Hawaiian Rolls in half (hamburger style).
  • In a large mixing bowl, add the milk, eggs or yogurt, vanilla, and cinnamon together and whisk until smooth. Dip the bread pieces into the mixture just until coated on each side, remove from the custard, and set aside.
  • Bring a skillet to griddle to medium heat. Add a pat of butter and once the butter sizzles and melts, place the soaked bread into the pan until the pan is full. You may need to cook this in batches depending on the size of your pan.
  • Cook each piece of french toast until golden on each side and then remove from the pan. Top with powdered sugar, berries, maple syrup, and serve warm.
