There is no secret that this has been a rough year for me (and most of us). In the midst of a family crisis, I'm learning a lot about others and myself. I'm learning how to be more selfless, live with more gratitude, and and understanding what it means to truly love unconditionally. And, when I consider the blessings that I have that so many others do not, I am humbled, overwhelmed, and feel moved to give back. When we stop to think about how so many people in this world don't even have their basic needs for survival met, it's causes us to look at our lives in a different way. So, today and this month I'm going to focus on bringing awareness to an organization that has inspired me and will hopefully inspire you!
Refugee Hope Partners in Raleigh, NC is a community that welcomes refugees from all over the world. Over 60 million people in our world have been displaced from their homes. That statistic makes me look at the roof over my head, the food in my fridge, and the people around me a little differently. These refugees oven flee violent and war-torn countries to seek safety and hope for a better life. Refugee Hope Partners is a local non profit who help thousands adapt to American culture and empower them to find success in our country. Their programs include things like: tutoring, bible study, english classes, and medical ministry. I've had to pleasure of working with this organization on several projects and they are truly such selfless and loving people who put others first. The impact Refugee Hope Partners has on the families who reside there is invaluable. Please visit their website to learn more or to give.
