Jillian Glenn's Birthday Reflections

August 23rd, 2022 was my 31st birthday! And, as I reflect - I have to be honest and say that I’ve had a fair share of ups and downs in my life.
Sharing my recipes for the past 3 years has been incredibly healing. It provides me with a creative outlet and a career I am truly obsessed with. Seeing you and your loved ones enjoy my recipes and make beautiful memories inspired by them has brought me more joy than I ever thought possible!
It has made it abundantly clear that my passion is not just food, it’s life, love, and helping others! And, the sweetest part of that is that for thousands of years … (thousands right?) people across the world have used food as the centerpiece to come together. Family, friends, strangers, and now - online friends! So, it comes full circle.
Anyway, in my 31 years, I’ve had some ups: like publishing two cookbooks, seeing my baby brothers become amazing young men, and traveling to some bucket list destinations. I’ve also had some downs: like divorce, loss, and even at times, struggling with my mental and physical health. I’ve learned so much. SO much. And I thank God for the growth that my journey has lead me to.
I guess I’m sharing that to say, you can do the damn thing. Whether that’s taking control of your health, accomplishing your goals, conquering fears .. you’ve got this. Choose joy, choose love, choose light, and choose life. Be thankful, help others, but help yourself first. And, don’t ever do anything or not do anything out of fear. It’s a lie that will hold you back.
Spend time with the people God has placed in your life, they may not be around forever but they are here now for a reason. Your memories and the people you love are the only things that will matter when you’re 90.
And, life’s short. So, live your life, eat plants, treat people and animals with kindness, and never skip dessert.
With love,
Jill
