Hi friends! I recently tried Rent The Runway for the first time. For those of you who don't know, Rent The Runway, is a service where you can rent 10 designer pieces for less than $100 a month. I used the service to look for a dress to wear for my birthday! I have known many people who have used RTR to snag great wedding guest dresses or outfits for other events.
As a petite woman (4'11) with a curvier figure, I have a hard time finding dresses - or clothes in general! Here is an honest review of my first Rent The Runway subscription!
My Rent The Runway Experience
Overall, I found Rent The Runway to be extremely user friendly. They have an app and mobile friendly website that makes signing up a breeze. You can immediately start shopping and within a few days, your package of designer outfits will arrive in the mail. The package includes a reusable shipping bag and return label. After 30 days, you can easily return the items and order your next set.
Dress 1 - Velvet Midi Dress from LoveNookie
Pros: This was my boyfriend's favorite on me! It hugged me in all of the right places. I was worried that as a midi dress - it might look too long on my petite frame. But, I was pleasantly surprised. I was also concerned that the cut outs would be too revealing - but I felt that they were very tasteful. The dress felt very fashionable, sexy, classy, and one that I could wear to a variety of evening events!
Cons: The chest seemed to run small so I wouldn't advise this dress for my gals with a larger chest. There is also no room for a bra, so if you need a little extra support, this might not be the right dress for you!
Dress 2 - Herve Leger Sweetheart Icon Dress
Pros: I felt like a million bucks in this Sweetheart Icon Dress from Herve Leger! The bandage dress was figure flattering and helped hold everything in. This style would fit a lot of body types. The material was super thick and felt expensive!
Cons: I wasn't in love with the sleeves and felt that they took away from the simple elegance of the dress. I also felt like the color was a little too understated and would have loved a more vibrant emerald green.
Dress 3 - Hutch White Sequin Mini Dress
Pros: This dress was so fun and flirty! The sequins felt perfect for a birthday girl or even a bride-to-be! I loved the short length and how it wasn't as fitted as the others. Since it wasn't skin-tight, it felt like it would be a lot more forgiving!
Cons: This dress seems to run large. Despite ordering a size 0, it was still quite large in the chest and shoulders. We had to pin it in the back to keep it from falling down.
Dress 4 - Nookie Harley Mini Dress
Pros: Ding Ding Ding! We have a winner! The Harley dress from Love Nookie was my favorite of all. This dress matched classy and elegant style and a sexy and feminine silhouette. The material was soft and comfortable and I felt like I could dress this up or down depending on the occasion. My favorite part about this dress was the vibrant red color.
Cons: Be sure to wear no-show underwear! There isn't much to hid panty lines on this dress!
