Jillian Glenn's Visit To Boston
My trip to Boston was half work, half pleasure, and 100% full of beautiful memories. Here are some of the highlights and some of my favorite plant-based finds!
We kicked things off in the classic Back Bay Area and stumbled upon Life Alive Cafe! I’m still dreaming about the PB&J açaí bowl, vegan caesar salad, and avocado toast that Carly and & I shared.
We explored Boston Commons, Quincy Market, & had a killer lunch at Nu Kitchen, which is where we held my book signing. We had the delicious plant-based chicken & lime bowl and PB&J smoothies (best thing on the menu in my opinion hehe) my meat eating friend, James, tried one of my vegan gf cupcakes and approved. Always love when non vegans enjoy my recipes!!
Dinner was at the North End (Little Italy) at Tresca with friends. What was really neat was that this restaurant can make ANY pasta on their menu vegan & gluten free! I got the vegan ravioli and it may have possibly been one of the most delicious things I’ve ever had. My friends aren’t plant-based so they enjoyed some classics. It’s always nice when a restaurant can accommodate any dietary needs
We had a lovely dinner Temazcal Cantina in the Seaport District! Their vegan & gf chilaquiles were divine! I can’t thank everyone who joined us at Nu Kitchen in Worcester & Somerville and the awesome staff who worked hard coordinating and welcoming us in!
More importantly, I can’t thank my friends who made this weekend so very special for me. Ya know, it’s funny. March of 2016 I moved to Boston for my ex’s job. I had no idea what to expect … who I’d meet (if anyone) or what my future looked like. And, while my marriage didn’t work out, I ended up meeting some of the most inspiring and true friends. Soulmate friends. Friendships that transcend time, distance, and one’s that are based on love and nothing else.
Life’s wild guys. And it’s just so beautiful. Things you thought were going to break you, build you and make you stronger. Things that seem scary, turn out to be the best things that ever happen to you. You think you know the reasons for situations, but God has a bigger picture.
Here are two little videos I put together that summarize the trip!
