Vegan Cheesy Maple Grits
Craving a bowl of comfort for breakfast this morning? Give these creamy vegan cheesy grits a try - I love drizzling mine with maple syrup!
Ingredients
Vegan Cheesy Maple Grits
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup unsweetened almond or oat milk
- ¾ cup grits
- ½ cup regular or vegan cheddar cheese shreds
- 2 tablespoon vegan butter
- 4 tablespoon maple syrup
- salt and pepper
Instructions
Vegan Cheesy Maple Grits
- In a medium saucepan, bring water and oat milk to a boil. Add the grits and reduce the heat to a simmer. Cook until the grits become thick and creamy, stirring often - about 10 minutes. Remove from heat & mix in the vegan cheddar cheese.
- Scoop out about ¼ of the pot of grits and enjoy each serving with a pat of vegan butter, seasoned with salt and pepper, and drizzled with maple syrup.
