Apple Pie Biscuit Recipe Instructions

  1. Preparation: Begin by preheating the oven to 400°F. Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Biscuit Batter: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine melted vegan butter, almond/oat milk, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix in the chosen flour until a dough consistency is reached. If opting for gluten-free flour and the dough feels crumbly, enrich it with an additional tablespoon each of melted vegan butter and almond milk. Carefully fold in the diced apple pieces.
  3. Baking: Using a tablespoon, drop a generous amount of biscuit dough onto the baking sheet, aiming for approximately 12 biscuits. Place in the oven and bake for 15 minutes, ensuring they turn golden. For an enhanced color, you can broil them for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  4. Vanilla Icing: As the biscuits bake, prepare the icing. In a separate small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. If the icing appears too thick, add an extra tablespoon of milk to achieve a drizzling consistency.
  5. Serving: Once baked, let the biscuits cool slightly before dressing them with the vanilla icing. Alternatively, relish them plain, or with a spread of vegan butter, or even a dash of maple syrup.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I store leftover apple biscuits?

Cool: Ensure the biscuits have cooled completely to room temperature. This prevents them from getting soggy due to the steam they release.
Air-Tight Container: Transfer the biscuits to an air-tight container. This will help maintain their freshness and prevent them from drying out.
Room Temperature: Store the container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
Refrigerate: If you plan on keeping them for more than 2 days, it's best to refrigerate them. They can last in the fridge for up to a week.
Reheating: When you're ready to eat the biscuits, you can warm them in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 5-10 minutes to regain some of their original texture and warmth.
Freezing: For even longer storage, you can freeze the biscuits. Individually wrap them in plastic wrap and then place them in a zip-top freezer bag. They can be stored in the freezer for up to 3 months. To reheat, thaw at room temperature and then warm in the oven as mentioned above.

these came out extremely well they weren’t dry at all they were perfectly crisp on the outside and softer and moist in the center I substituted sugar for maybe 2 tablespoons of monk fruit sweetener and I used pillsbury gluten free flour and Pamela’s flour (you know from that brand that makes those awesome honey graham crackers)
