These vegan breadsticks are buttery, golden, soft, and fluffy! They are as easy to make as they are delicious! These vegan breadsticks make the perfect side to any of my vegan soup or salad recipes!
Mix the warmed oat or almond milk, melted vegan butter, salt, baking powder (if using), and apple cider vinegar (if using) together. Add the active dry yeast and mix a few times. Allow to sit for 10 minutes. Then, mix in the flour. Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel and allow the dough to rise for about 1 hour.
Place the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Slice into about 12 pieces and then roll either piece into a 3-4 inch bread stick. Place the sticks onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Sprinkle them with garlic powder. Cover the pan again with a kitchen towel and let the breadsticks rise for another 20 minutes. Bake for 15 minutes or until they have completely risen. Broil for 2 minutes at the end. Brush with melted butter before serving. Option to sprinkle with salt, garlic powder, and freshly chopped parsley.

Posted on: October 19, 2020I am making these right now and will make the Vegan and Gluten Free – No Yeast Breadsticks. I am confused by the recipe because the Classic recipe states 1 T apple cider vinegar – only use if making gluten free breadsticks but it does not include it in the Gluten Free recipe. Can you explain? Thank you so much.
It also says warmed almond milk but the recipe for gluten free doesn’t say warmed milk. Just want to make sure they work for my party tonight. I assume since I am not using yeast that I do not need to let them rise?
