Everything Bagel Biscuit Recipe Instructions

  1. Prep your Oven: Start by preheating it to 400°F.
  2. Create the Batter: In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, your choice of milk, maple syrup, and baking powder. Gradually add in your flour, ensuring it's mixed just until combined. If you're using gluten-free flour and it's a bit crumbly, incorporate an additional tablespoon of both melted vegan butter and milk.
  3. Add the Extras: Gently fold in the chives to your dough.
  4. Shape & Season: Drop spoonfuls of your biscuit dough onto a parchment-lined cookie sheet. Sprinkle them generously with everything bagel seasoning.
  5. Bake to Perfection: Allow them to bake for approximately 15 minutes. You'll know they're ready when they're fluffy and have a golden base.
  6. Final Touch: For those who love a more toasted top, you can broil the biscuits for about a minute to achieve that golden-brown finish.

How To Make Your Own Everything Bagel Seasoning

  • White Sesame Seeds: 1 tbsp
  • Black Sesame Seeds: 1 tablespoon (for color contrast and a slightly different flavor)
  • Dried Minced Garlic: 1 tbsp
  • Dried Minced Onion: 1 tbsp
  • Poppy Seeds: ½ tbsp
  • Coarse Sea Salt: 1 teaspoon (or to taste; you can use flaked sea salt for a different texture)

Instructions:

  1. Mix Ingredients: In a small bowl, combine the white and black sesame seeds, dried minced garlic, dried minced onion, poppy seeds, and coarse sea salt.

I've never made biscuits before. How large do you fashion the biscuits before you put it on the cooking tray? Is it a meatball size, larger, etc?

    • Jillian Glenn says

Simply use a serving tablespoon an scoop out the biscuit and drop it onto the baking sheet. I'd say about 2-3 inches in diameter.
