- Milk: We recommend using plain unsweetened almond or oat milk in these Fourth of July Chocolate Donut Holes. If you are not vegan or dairy-free, feel free to use regular milk.
- Butter: To keep these Fourth of July Chocolate Donut Holes vegan, we use melted vegan butter. If you are not vegan or dairy-free, feel free to use regular butter.
- Sugar: We used purecane sugar-free substitute to reduce the sugar in this recipe, but feel free to use any regular cane sugar or coconut sugar.
- Cocoa: Cocoa powder is what provides that delicious chocolatey flavor to our baked donut holes.
- Vanilla: For a delicious donut flavor!
- Baking Powder and Baking Soda: Since we don't need any eggs in this recipe, the baking powder and baking soda will make our donut holes nice and fluffy.

How To Make Fourth of July Chocolate Donut Holes
Step 1: Begin by preheating the oven and spraying your donut molds with baking spray. Then, in a medium sized mixing bowl, mix the almond milk, melted vegan butter, sugar or purecane, vanilla, baking soda, baking powder, and cocoa powder together until smooth.
Step 2: Add the flour and mix until a smooth and thick donut batter forms. Option to fold in the chocolate chips. Spoon the batter into the greased donut hole molds and bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes.
Step 3: You will know the vegan chocolate donut holes are done when they have risen completely in the center. While the donut holes bake, mix your almond milk, powdered sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla, and melted vegan butter together to make the vegan chocolate frosting.
Step 4: Spoon the frosting over the donut holes or dip them into the bowl. Add the Fourth of July sprinkles on top and enjoy!
